A Vermont man has been arrested on multiple drug-related charges after police pulled him over in Rockingham Thursday afternoon
Authorities are investigating whether possible intoxicants could have been a factor after a car crash left one woman dead. Castleton police said Crystal Anderson, 34, was driving a 2007 Honda Civic when she collided with a 2012 white transport bus Wednesday. Anderson and two 13-year-old passengers were taken to a nearby hospital.

Fire crews say a fatal house fire is not being investigated as suspicious, but they have identified the victim. John King, 83, was killed in the fire that erupted around 4:30 a.m. in Waitsfield. One woman has died after a crash in Cambridge. State Police said the crash happened about 8:45 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Vermont Route 104 and Vermont Route 15.
Police say the intersection of Route 104 and Vermont Route 15 in Cambridge is closed following a crash. Troopers, along with Cambridge fire and rescue, are responding to the scene. There's currently no estimate on when the road will reopen and motorists are being encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Police say a man in Vermont has used a machete to attack a woman in her 70s as she delivered meals to a motel being used as emergency housing for the homeless. 32-year-old Burlington resident Abukar Ibrahim is accused of attacking the 73-year-old Meals on Wheels volunteer who was dropping off meals at Harbor Place, which serves as a temporary emergency housing facility. The attack happened Friday in Shelburne.
Authorities charged a man in relation to the machete attack that almost killed a woman Friday morning. The 73-year-old woman was severely cut in the leg when the suspect, who was reported as smashing car windows at the Harbor Place motel, attacked her. She was hospitalized and later released.

A small earthquake has been recorded in the area of White River Junction, Vermont, near the New Hampshire border. Some residents reported feeling the 2.3-magnitude earthquake, which the United States Geological Survey says struck around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police responded to a fatal accident on Burke Mountain on Sunday. Denny Degreenia, 45, of Concord, was driving a 1986 LMC 1500 tracked and enclosed utility vehicle, checking "snow guns" on the mountain when the vehicle rolled over. He and passenger Clifford Savage, 27, were both unrestrained at the time, and Degreenia was ejected.
